The Generative A.I. movement was born in 2022 and likely, it’s just getting started. An interesting startup that uses Generative AI in search is called Metaphor.
What a great name! You can follow them on Twitter here. I think once GPT-4 is announced this use-case could get more interesting.
It’s sad to admit, but Web search hasn't changed in 20 years. This team is building a new search engine from scratch, using the same ideas behind DALL-E and Stable Diffusion.
It understands language — in the form of prompts — so you can say what you're looking for in all the expressive and creative ways you can think of. And, if we're all lucky, it might make the internet feel a little less like a wall of ads. We can hope right?

Clearly how we do search in the future might be much more sophisticated and augmented with A.I. and not just in the rules of Google.

On August 20th, 2021 they released Wanderer 2, a large language model trained to search over the 2.5 million pages that have been posted to Hacker News!
