An L.A. Startup is using A.I. to Improve Autism Care
SpectrumAI raises $9 million in Seed funding
Hey Guys,
This is A.I. Survey Premium,
I recently covered some A.I. in autism research and I stumbled upon a new startup that I also wanted to cover here.
Ling Shao is an Orange County mother to four children on the spectrum, who shared what it was like for her sons to receive high-quality care and the positive impact that had made on their lives this month with the world.
This is because her startup, SpectrumAI. You can see her thank you post on LinkedIn here. The startup according to Fast Company, aims to use technology to improve therapies for children with the neurological disorder.
“Every moment that we’re not enabling more capacity and better quality of care is a moment where there’s a child out there that’s not getting services, and that’s impeding them from living their best life or having the opportunity to have friends, to live independently, to get a job someday,” Shao told dot.LA. “As a mom, that’s terrifying for me.”
SpectrumAi is modernizing and democratizing access to high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for kids on the spectrum around the world.
Ling Shao—a health care industry veteran who worked for UnitedHealth for eight years—founded SpectrumAi, a digital health company looking to innovate autism care through technology.
The digital health company that develops innovative solutions in the autism space, raised $9 million in seed funding.
The round was co-led by F-Prime Capital and Frist Cressey Ventures, with participation from Autism Impact Fund.
I’m interesting in building more kinds of premium content on A.I. news and startups. If you are interested you can support the channel and see where I take the publication and its columns.
